There is an element at the heart of every support system that deserves the same attention: the material the profile is made from.

For the 41 Profile range, Prosystem uses S350 steel, a choice that represents a distinctive feature of our range and one that we want to explore to better understand how steel quality can affect the characteristics of a support system.

Why the choice of steel really makes a difference

The material used to manufacture a profile is not simply a technical specification listed in a product datasheet. It contributes to the mechanical characteristics of the solution and is therefore an important factor to consider during the design phase.

A profile can have the same geometry, dimensions and surface finish while being manufactured from different types of steel. In this case, what changes is not necessarily what we can see at first glance, but what the material can offer in terms of its mechanical properties.

 

Different steels, different characteristics

Different grades of steel can be used in the production of profiles and support systems. The distinction between one grade and another also concerns the mechanical properties of the material, which affect its ability to withstand the stresses to which it is subjected.

One of the most important parameters is yield strength, meaning the level of stress beyond which a material may begin to undergo permanent deformation. This is one of the aspects that makes our choice to use S350 steel significant.

The value associated with its designation identifies a specific strength class of the material and therefore provides important information for understanding the characteristics of the steel used.

In other words, when choosing a profile, it is not enough to consider its size or its shape: it is also important to know what material it is made from.

This becomes even more relevant when the profile is used to create support structures subject to different loads and stresses.

Of course, the overall performance of a system does not depend exclusively on the steel used. Section geometry, thickness, restraints, assembly methods and loading conditions all contribute to the final behaviour of the solution. For this reason, material quality must always be assessed as part of the overall design.

 

S350: a complete range for different applications

The use of S350 steel adds value to the 41 Profile range starting from the raw material itself, in line with PROS's approach to developing technical solutions that focus not only on system configuration, but also on the quality and safety of the components used.

 

The Prosystem profile range includes several types: 41/21, 41/41, 41/62, 41/75 and 41/82, available in both single and double configurations.

A broad and diversified range makes it possible to identify the most suitable solution for the characteristics of each project, combining different sections and configurations according to the specific requirements of the installation.

The 41/41 Profile, for example, is available in different thicknesses and lengths and can also be used to create double configurations directly on site by coupling two single profiles.

 

Quality starts with the raw material

For us, the quality of a support system is not limited to the final result. It starts with the design, the selection of materials, the quality of the components and the ability to develop solutions that are consistent with the requirements of the installation.

For us, quality also means paying attention to what is not always visible, but contributes to the overall value of a solution. And with our 41 Profiles, that attention starts with the raw material.
